To whom it may concern
Dundalk Rugby Club had organised to spend a few days at Rugby Academy Ireland in early January 2019.
We brought 25 players aged 15, 16 and 17 years old and were all part of the Dundalk RFC Under 17 youth squad.
This U17 team are currently playing Leinster Youth Premier League Rugby and are the current league leaders.
With the expert guidance and direction of Rugby Academy Ireland’s Dan Van Zyle, we organised a 2 .5 day Rugby Training Camp in the really comfortable surroundings of Killashee House Hotel & Spa facility outside Naas.
The days were varied and covered all aspects of rugby training on and off the field and offered a real taste of what life was like playing Rugby at the highest level.
Dan instantly won over the minds and hearts of all these young Rugby Players with his impressive track record of playing and coaching experience.
The whole set up was really professional and at a very high standard, whether it was the spacious, circular and bright class room spaces, or the quality of newly constructed rugby playing pitches, the latest training equipment or finally the top class gym, pool, spa and recovery rooms.
The Hotel Staff and facilities in the Killashee House make the whole experience very easy and comfortable, which is very important for the visiting coaches and managers of big groups of Youth Rugby Players.
The set up allows the time and space for the players and coaches to bond as a group away from the classroom and pitch-work. The rugby academy organised Motivational and Leadership tutors to give sessions with the players, that challenged and taxed themselves wrt their opinions, ambitions, their thought processes and ask themselves questions never asked before.
Overall on behalf of Dundalk Rugby Club we sincerely thank Dan and his team for an amazing and truly beneficial rugby camp. We will be back.
