Sending our son Stefan to Ireland was one of the biggest decisions of our lives. All he wanted was to play rugby and just needed a fair chance to achieve his goals. Not only did he achieve that but he also got trials for Italy!

A professional setup in a great environment with friendly and extremely knowledgeable coaches. The academy is everything it says it is on paper and more. You can only get better both on and off the pitch from attending it. Thank you for a great year where Johan and Dan helped me to find a newborn appreciation for rugby.

It is an excellent pathway if you are interested in living and training like a professional and whatever your rugby requirements are –an aspiring professional or as a player wanting to improve and develop your game, I would highly recommend the RAI programme to help you achieve your goals.

Shaping character and positive attitudes based on mutual respect and self-discipline

From the beautiful Stradbally Hall, the academy operates on a full and half board basis, with top of the range facilities including a state of the art gym, indoor training area, astro and grass training areas, class room facilities, video analysis room, ice bath and exterior strongman gym.

The academy is led by two highly qualified international coaches as well as position specific coaches, Strength and Conditioning experts and professionals from various other disciplines – all geared towards taking player performance to the next level.

Programmes are tailored and structured to individual needs and we use our connections with European and other clubs that lead to scouting opportunities locally and abroad. We adopt an interactive approach to coaching, striving to improve a player’s tactical awareness as well as the technical aspects and core skills of the game.

Self-discipline and respect are fundamental at the academy, helping to create a positive atmosphere, where individuals look out for one another, and develop independence as well as enhancing personal and social skills that set them up well for life.
